Projects

I produce projects to empower communities, champion greater equity, promote the Welsh language in the arts and to connect the arts sector in Wales with my home country, Bermuda.

I’m always seeking opportunities to collaborate with people and projects that align with my values. Feel free to get in touch if you have an idea you’d like to discuss.

Intersectional Identities | Hunaniaethau Croestoriadol

Thanks to the Arts Council Wales, Welsh Government, and the National Dance Foundation of Bermuda for funding Intersectional Identities/Hunaniaethau Croestoriadol; an 18-month project exploring the intersections of D/deaf, Black, and Welsh speaking identities in audiences, creatives, and cultural organisations.

Throughout the next 18-months, project partners, Deaf Hub Wales, Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru, Krystal S. Lowe, National Dance Company Wales, Taking Flight Theatre Company, and The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds Cymru: Giving Nature a Home in Cardiff will seek to develop artists, new audiences, and participants with specific focus on the intersections of D/deaf, Black, and Welsh speaking people.

Presenting Individual Identities

Researcher alongside Dr. Adeola Dewis on Presenting Individual Identities funded by Clwstwr.

Amidst an increased collective awareness around anti-racism and representation, we have seen a rise in ‘culture washing’ across our news and screen as mainstream media struggles to engage with difference.

Presenting Individual Identities’ will innovate the way we share stories to ensure that we retain the richness of each individual’s experience; challenging myths and misinformation about minority cultures.

By exploring and creating new tools developed directly with people from minority cultures and representatives of the screen and news sector, ‘Presenting Individual Identities’ will equip the media to share authentic, accessible and relevant stories to engage currently under-served and under-represented audiences.

Ein Hanes Ni | The History of Us

A Wales Arts International and Bermuda Civic Ballet funded research and development project between Bermudian and Welsh dance artists which explores how artists from different backgrounds, cultures, and languages share their artistic process and practice through discussions and dance sessions.

Whimsy Creative Collaboration

Jubilee Park Primary and Krystal S. Lowe

Funded by Arts Council Wales, Welsh Government, and National Lottery in partnership with Ballet Cymru, the University of South Wales, and Red Beetle Films with support from the Riverfront Theatre technical team.

Jubilee Park Primary year 6 pupils and their teachers collaborated with me in 2019 to create a 25-minute dance theater show with the year 6 pupils, University of South Wales dance degree students, and Ballet Cymru Pre-professionals co-creating and performing this work together at the Ballet Cymru studio.

Below, The Making of ‘Whimsy’ video shows the process of this project with reflections from those who took part in the project as well as from myself.

Over the course of my career, my projects have received support from:
